Artist Description
Artistic Direction & Style
The work here on this page explores the tension between form and dissolution, memory and erasure. Using expressive brushwork, I create figures and environments in flux—fragmented, distorted, and dissolving. Classical themes like ornate interiors or equestrian figures (although not all the time) become spectral echoes.
Process & Concept
Painting is both creation and destruction. Layers emerge and collapse, figures form and fade, reflecting themes of memory, time, and impermanence. My work suggests lost histories, dreamlike recollections, and shifting identities.
Ornate Environments & Their Role
I place compositions in rich, historical settings to emphasise nostalgia and transformation. These environments disintegrate, highlighting the passage of time and the tension between permanence and decay.
Overall Intent
My work captures the energy of things in motion—physically and psychologically. By balancing tradition with abstraction, I invite viewers to question what remains and what fades, engaging with the ephemeral nature of existence.
