This series focuses on the distortion of spaces tied to social rituals, particularly bars—places of fleeting connection, camaraderie, and, often, excess. These environments, once full of life, now exist only in fragments, obscured by the haze of time and drink. The figures are unstable, their forms dissolving into smoke and fire, echoing the impermanence of these moments and the disorientation of memory.
The imagery draws on visual elements of decay and instability, with references to the tactile imperfections of aged photographs. By disrupting familiar scenes, the work reflects on the ephemerality of these once-vivid experiences, now blurred, distorted, and fading into abstraction.
